Using Flight mode on your W300i

Select Music only for an uninterrupted listening experience which won't interfere with the radar and crash the plane

Selecting Flight mode on your Sony Ericsson W300i means you can listen to music throughout a flight and extend the handset's battery

If you are on a plane and want to listen to your music you can start your Sony Ericsson in “flight mode”, which allows the music features to work without starting the phone.

This not only keeps airline stewards and stewardesses happy but it will also extend the W300i's battery life so you can keep listening to more music on long journeys.

To access flight mode do the following:

  • Switch the phone off using the button in the bottom right corner of the keyboard.
  • Switch the phone on again and you will be asked to select between Start phone or Music only
  • Select Music only for an uninterrupted listening experience which won't interfere with the radar and crash the plane
  • When you're ready to use the phone again restart it and select Start phone

You can now listen to Gnarls Barkley undisturbed by flight staff and extend the W300i's battery life as well. The plane shouldn't crash either...
