Using your W300i as a remote control

John Murphy

Using your W300i as a remote is particulary useful if you are using PowerPoint

Use your W300i mobile phone as a Bluetooth remote control and you could save money on a dedicated remote for your PC

You can use your phone as a remote control through Bluetooth; this is particulary useful if you are using PowerPoint in a presentation.

As Bluetooth is radio-based rather than infrared you don't need line of sight with your computer either but your PC must be equipped with a Bluetooth card.

To use this fun feature go to:

  • In the Menu screen click on Entertainment
  • In the Entertainment screen click on Remote control
  • Choose the type of remote functionality you want: Presenter means that it can control a PowerPoint presentation, Media Player controls Windows Media Player or iTunes while Desktop allows you to interface with the Windows desktop
  • You will then need to search for and pair with your computer via Bluetooth in the usual fashion. Your W300i is now good to go as a remote control
