Playing music on your Sony Ericsson W300i

It is very important to place your music files into the music directory
Listen to music on your W300i Walkman phone without bothering with your handset
When loading music to your W300i it is very important to place your music files into the music directory of the memory stick, otherwise the music features may not find it.
Playing music
On the phone go to the menu:
- Select Walkman (Figure 1)
- You can pick out a particular track by working your way through the Artists, Tracks or Playlists directories (Figure 2)
- Or you can shuffle through a single directory or through the whole memory stick (Figure 3)
- To access the Shuffle mode start playing a song then click on More and then Play mode (Figure 4). You toggle Shuffle mode on and off to play songs randomly (Figure 5) or select Loop to play the same song repeatedly (Figure 6)
- When the music starts it will play through a rather tinny built-in speaker until you plug in the headphones (Figure 7).
The standard W300i retail package contains a headset and an adapter that fits into the bottom of the phone. The adaptor has a standard 3.5mm socket which means you can use any headphones.
Tip: The sound level can be controlled using the orange rocker switch on the side of the phone, the top one for louder and the bottom one for quieter.
The button in the middle stops the music or restarts it again. This feature on the outside of the phone is extremely useful as you can easily work the music buttons while keeping the phone in your pocket.
Tip: If you want to skip a track then press the top rocker button and hold it down.
The central play/pause button can be reconfigured
- Select Menu
- Click on Settings (Figure 8)
- Click on General (Figure 9)
- Play/pause button to either Walkman or Radio, or Play latest – which resumes whichever you were last playing (Figure 10).
