Setting up and using email

John Murphy

You can attach files or forward emails

Send and receive emails from your W300i and stay in touch with your nearest and dearest

To set up Email on your W300i you need to access your Account settings.

To do this go to:

  • Messaging (Figure 1)
  • Email (Figure 2)
  • Settings (Figure 3)
  • Account Settings (Figure 4)
  • New Account (Figure 5)

Once here you need to insert some vital information including:

  • Account Name (Figure 6)
  • Email Address (Figure 7)
  • Connection Type (Figure 8)
  • Incoming server details (Figure 9)
  • Username (Figure 10)
  • Pasword (Figure 11)

The decide whether or not you wish to set up an outgoing server. If o then you need to fill in the following details:

  • Outgong Server (Figure 12)
  • Username
  • Password

Then you can add extras to your email details such as whether you want to include a signature (Figure 13) or encryption to your emails. Details for Incoming and Outgoing Ports should already be entered (Figure 14) and can be left as they are.

Using email

Almost as simple as using SMS but with a few tricks, in that you can attach files or forward emails.

  • Select Messages
  • Email
  • Write new (Figure 15) and follow the instructions (Figure 16)

You can either write in an email address or select it from the phone book so it is worth making sure that your friends and business email addresses are in the phone book.

Always look for the More button at the bottom right of the screen to find out what extra things you can do at any stage, like attach files and select multiple addresses.
