Using Bluetooth on the Sony Ericsson T303
The T303's Bluetooth connectivity is easy to set up and use
We show you how to set up your Sony Ericsson T303's Bluetooth to use a handsfree headset and to transfer images

Although your Sony Ericsson T303 comes with a headphone set supplied in the box, you can also use a wireless Bluetooth handsfree headset with your phone.
The T303's Bluetooth connectivity is easy to set up and use. As well as using a wireless Bluetooth headset, you can send and receive images and other files using the phone's Bluetooth capability.
Here we show you how to connect a Bluetooth headset to the phone, and how to send a picture or other file via Bluetooth.
Remember, for Bluetooth connections to work properly the two Bluetooth-equipped devices should be within 10 metres of each other - although they don't have to be lined up or next to each other.
Connecting and using a Bluetooth handsfree headset
- From the standby screen press Menu (Figure 1).
- Scroll to highlight the Settings icon (Figure 2). Press Select.
- Scroll across to the Connectivity tab. Highlight Bluetooth and press Select (Figure 3).
- Highlight Turn on. Press Select (Figure 4). A message appears onscreen confirming that Bluetooth has been turned on.
- Scroll down to highlight Visibility. Press Select (Figure 5).
- If Show phone isn't already selected, highlight this option and press Select (Figure 6). Your phone will now be visible to other Bluetooth devices.
- Scroll down to highlight Handsfree. Press Select (Figure 7).
- An onscreen message ask: Add a a handsfree device to use with this phone? Press Yes (Figure 8).
- A message appears saying Handsfree must be activated and you must have the passcode at hand (Figure 9). This means you must now follow the specific pairing set up instructions on your Bluetooth handsfree headset. You must also make a note of the headset's passcode whcih will be in the headset's instructions - it's usually a simple four-digit code such as '0000'.
- Once the Bluetooth handsfree headset is ready for pairing and you have the passcode, press OK.
- The phone will search for the Bluetooth headset, and when it is found its name will be displayed and highlighted onscreen (Figure 10). Press Select.
- You will be asked for the headset's passcode (Figure 11).Type in the number (Figure 12) and press OK.
- After a few moments, a message will confirm that the headset has been added to your list of paired devices. It will appear on your My handsfree list (Figure 13).
- To connect and use the handsfree headset, scroll down to highlight the name of your headset and press Conn. (Figure 14).
- An onscreen message appears to confirm the headset has been connected (Figure 15).
Your phone is now connected to the Bluetooth handsfree headset, and a handsfree icon appears in the top left of the display.
Now that the Bluetooth headset is paired with your T303, it should be able to automatically connect to the phone via Bluetooth whenever it is switched on in range of the phone when the phone's Bluetooth is active.
Sending a picture (or other file) via Bluetooth
- From the standby screen, press Menu (Figure 1).
- Scroll to highlight Organizer (Figure 16). Press Select.
- Highlight File manager. Press Select (Figure 17).
- Highlight the folder where the file you want to send is stored - in this case an image in the Camera album. Press Open (Figure 18).
- Scroll through your images to highlight the one you want to send (Figure 19).
- Press Options. Highlight Send and press Select (20). Scroll down to highlight Via Bluetooth (Figure 21). Press Select.
- Make sure that the device you want to send the image to has its Bluetooth switched on and its visibility to other devices is switched on. The phone will search for Bluetooth devices within range, and a list of will appear on the display (Figure 22).
- Highlight the device to which you want to send the file. Press Select (Figure 23).
- A message appears onscreen confirming that the phone is connecting to the device. The phone will now wait for the other device to accept the Bluetooth transfer (Figure 24).
- If the Bluetooth file transfer is accepted by the recipient device, the transfer will begin.
In a few moments, a message will appear confirming that the file has been transferred. You will be returned to your folder, where you can send more files if you wish.
