Chris Leonard
How to send files to and from your Sony Ericsson W800i wirelessly and free of charge by using Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a wireless technology that's now available on almost every mobile phone currently on sale in the UK.
It also features on a raft of accessories and on many PCs and laptops. We'll show you how to transfer files, photos and other stuff to and from your Sony Ericsson K800i using Bluetooth.
To send a file from your K800i to another handset using Bluetooth, select the file you want – e.g. a phonebook contact or a picture – then follow these steps:
- Press More and select Send
- Choose Via Bluetooth
- Select the destination device from the list and press Select
- Your file should be transferred. A message may appear asking whether you want to pair your phone with the device. If so follow the instructions on your phone and the device
Receiving Files Via Bluetooth
To receive a file from another handset, make sure Bluetooth is turned on and that your device is visible (Changed on the Bluetooth menu screen). Then:
- Place your K800i near the other device sending the file
- When the file transfer starts follow the instructions on the screen
