Sky by Mobile: internet settings for O2/K800i users


O2 users who are having problems running Sky by Mobile on the Sony Ericsson K800i may need to change their internet settings manually

If the Sky by Mobile application doesn't run correctly on your mobile, freezing or rejecting a connection at login, O2 users may need to add a reference to an Access Point Network. Follow these instructions to tweak your Internet settings:

  • Go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Internet settings
  • Highlight Internet profiles and click Select
  • Highlight New profile and click Add
  • Highlight Name, click Add, enter the name 'O2 Internet' and click OK
  • Highlight Connect using and click Select
  • Highlight New account and click Add
  • Highlight GPRS data and click Select
  • Enter the name 'O2' and click Continue
  • Highlight APN and click Edit. Enter 'mobile.02.co.uk' and click OK
  • Highlight Username and click Edit. Enter 'web' and click OK.
  • Highlight Password and click Edit. Enter the password 'password' and click OK
  • Click Save to see the message 'New GPRS data account created'
  • On the page titled 'Data accounts', highlight O2 and click Select. You new profile (Name: O2 Internet; Connect Using: O2) will be confirmed. Click Save to see the message 'New profile created'.
  • On the Internet profiles page, highlight O2 Internet and click Select.
  • Highlight Settings for Java and click Select
  • Highlight O2 Internet and click Select
  • Press and hold the Back key to return to Standby mode
  • Run the Sky by Mobile application from Menu > File manager > Applications and you should now be able to log in successfully
