Sony Ericsson C905 camera samples

The C905 is Sony Ericsson's flagship cameraphone, so it made sense that we took it out and about to see just how good the snaps are

Sony Ericsson's C905 is the hottest handset on the market at the moment from the Swedish manufacturer.

Previously, Sony Ericsson has neglected music capabilities on its Cyber-shot handsets and left sub-standard camera on its Walkman devices. The C905 though is an all rounder.

The 8-megapixel camera features the usual high-end camera functionalities including auto focus, face detection, red eye reduction, image stabilisation, Smart Contrast, BestPic and PhotoFix. You could almost be mistaken that this is a camera rather than a cameraphone. Images are crisp, and in dark conditions complemented by the xenon flash that blasts the alternative LED light out of the water.

The camera is easy to use with shortcuts for the most useful functions and the accelerometer kicks in when you flip the phone sideways, making it feel ever more like a proper camera in terms of taking and viewing pics.

This snapshot of a car has come out loud and clear
The red of the brick is vibrant on this photo, with perspective well defined. Brick detail is clear too.
This photo was taken indoors and the bright strp lighting bleads into the photo. Although some lighter colours are wishy-washy, bright colours still stand out

The gloomy weather has really affected this picture. Although detail is clear, the nearer it gets to the sky, the more blurry this becomes, even though there was no fog.

The red of this postbox is really bright, which shows the power of the Sony Ericsson C905's camera. Autofocus has locked onto the postbox which was the main subject in the picture, while the cars in the background are out of focus - exactly what we wanted!
