Changing themes on the Sony Ericsson C702

You can make your Sony Ericsson C702 look exactly like you want it to, giving it fresh new feel simply by changing its theme. All it takes is a few quick button presses and your phone's menus, standby screen and backgrounds could be completely transformed.

Customisation is just a few simple clicks away. The Themes feature included on the C702 enables you change the look of your phone's display and menu system in just a few seconds. Most themes include a wallpaper image, colour scheme and screensaver. With the C702, certain themes also provide 'haptic feedback' - a slight vibrating buzz - when you're scrolling through the main menu options.

As with most Sony Ericsson handsets, the C902 comes pre-loaded with a selection of swappable themes. You can also download new ones directly from Sony Ericsson straight to the phone- some are free and others you pay for - or you can download them from other content providers, such as your mobile network operator, or third party websites.

There's a fantastic range of themes available online, with many free to download. Whether you want to show your football club loyalties onscreen, install images of your favourites celelrities, theme your phone for the latest blockbuster movie or simply go for something quirky or unusual-looking, there are loads for you to explore. You can search for themes and copy them to your phone, using the same procedure to install them outlined below

To select or change a theme:

• From the standby page select Menu (Figure 1)
• From the main Menu screen select Settings (Figure 2).
• Scroll across to Display.
• Scroll down to Theme (Figure 3) and press Select.
• Scroll down to the theme you want to use and press Set (Figure 4).

Alternatively, on the Themes menu page, select the Sony Ericsson option at the top of the list to access a selection of new themes to download. This will involve going online so be prepared for additional data charges if you are not on an unlimited data plan.

Once you've selected your Theme, it will take a few seconds to be set (Figure 5), but then your menus, wallpaper and display colour scheme will all change (Figure 6).

Press the End key to get back straight to your new-look standby screen (Figure 7).

You can easily swap the Theme back to the original, or any of the others, simply by following the same procedure described above.
