When you’re planning a skiing holiday, or any snow sport for that matter, it’s useful to know how the weather will behave.
Swiss Snow Report provides in-depth information about the skiing conditions at various ski and snowsports locations across Switzerland.
However, it doesn’t just give you the current conditions, but also past conditions, meaning you could use it to plan your next snow sport trip based on previous information.
In addition to a search box at the top of the app’s homescreen, there’s also a list of every resort in Switzerland, listed in name order. Start typing the first two letters of the resort you’re looking for in the search box and the results will begin to appear.
If you haven't made your mnd up about which resort you'd like to visit yet, you can view the resorts in a list by snow fall, weather conditions, price or proximity to you current location.
Tap on the resort name and there’s enough information to keep you reading for hours. Some snow-related fields on the database include the last time snow fell at that resort, how much fell and the depth of the snow.
Away from the snow report, there’s also information including number of lifts open, number of runs open, plus the prices per person for a day pass. Like the rest of the information, this is real-time data from mySwitzerland.com, Switzerland's main tourist site, so you can be sure it's accurate.
You can add any resort to your favourites that can all be viewed from the favourites tab, with the same in-deth information as seen on the rest of the app.
The only thing that’s missing on Swiss Snow Report is a link to book the trip, although this is probably easier to do using the Safari browser, or even better, a computer.
