Appbox Pro review

We review Appbox Pro for the iPhone. It’s like having a collection of Swiss army knives in your pocket without the sharp bits

It seems that, as time goes on, the multi-tool apps in the App Store are becoming increasingly feature-packed.
Like some of kind of arms race, developers are trying to turn their wares into the ultimate software Swiss army knife.
Appbox Pro is one such application and it features a ludicrous 23 different tools from which to choose.
The layout of the main page has been designed in the form of the iPhone home screen. There are different icons on a black background, and small dots at the bottom to denote which page you’re on. Much like the iPhone’s home screen, it looks good and works well.
For ease, we’ve taken a screen shot of the main page which holds 22 out of the app’s 23 tools so you can see exactly what all of them are at a glance. Stuff like the flash light and ruler for a example aren’t going to make the headlines on CNN and shouldn’t require a great deal of explanation.
For starters though, the battery life reader is pretty cool. In addition to being useful for anyone that has forgotten their glasses and can’t see the tiny battery symbol on the iPhone interface, it provides some useful stats.
The tool shows you how many hours and minutes the battery will sustain different uses such as gaming or audio. Different games take different amounts of battery though so it’s only really a guideline.
Anyone who's into the habit of shuffling around their media to free up space will be pleased to learn that there’s a system info feature which details the goings on in your iPhone’s storage.
All of the mandatory features for a tool such as this are present. Additions such as a currency converter, metric converter and language translator and pretty much par for the course.
Some of the tools feature their own sub menus which adds a level of customisability to the proceedings. For example the tool called ‘Dashboard’ provides options to change.
At just £1.19, the app certainly represents value for money which makes niggles such as the poorly presented info in the system info tool more forgivable.
The fact that there is so many different tools make Appbox Pro worth a punt if you’re trying to clear up your home pages.
