We review Planets, an iPhone app to guide you around the planets
Published on Oct 12, 2009
If you’ve ever walked along on your way home from a night out, looked up at the sky and wondered just what is going on up there, this app could quench your thirst for knowledge.
Or if you’ve always been interested in astronomy and have a fondness for Mars or Venus and want to know exactly when the prime time is to spot your favourite planet, this app can help.
Planets provides details of location, maps of stars and constellations, sunrise and sunset, key time information of planet and moon activity, phases and much more.
There’s a 3D globe view of all of the planets for uses to feast their senses on with this nicely designed and easy to use app, in addition to planetary fact sheets and more detail than you could shake a stick at.
If you want to look up and smile with knowledge rather than ignorance, or are helping children to learn the different between a comet and a star, this app will prove very useful. Particularly as it’s completely free.
