Aqua Punt review
We review Aqua Punt, a fun app that's a recreation of the handheld water games of old
Published on Oct 12, 2009
Anyone under the age of 30 probably remembers the water-based game where you had to push buttons to make air shoot out, pushing balls into the air (or water) through hoops.
Now you can recreate that experience with Aqua Punt.
Ok, so the only sporty aspect is the American football-shaped pieces that you hurl into the air, but there’s nothing wrong with that. You could even start your own tournament with friends to make it more of a sport.
The app is superbly made. When you tap on the touchscreen buttons, you actually feel like you are up against the water pressure to try and get those footballs through the goal posts.
Every time you succeed in getting the ball through a goal post, you get points and free turns. Every time you miss, you lose those free turns.
There are three different modes of play crammed into this simple app too – free play, one minute and three minute where you’re up against the clock to rack up as many points as possible.
Aqua Punt is a well-produced app that will take you back in time to holding one of those plastic games in your little hands.
