Golfshot: Golf GPS review
We review Golfshot: Golf GPS, an app that'll improve your game by giving you intimate detail about your course
Published on Oct 12, 2009
A serious golf app for serious golfers, Golfshot GPS will definitely appeal to those who want to add another dimension to the game. In fact, it’s so good, you could get accused of cheating!
Golfshot GPS does all the things that most would expect from golf app, it works as a scorecard for you and up to three competitors. You can input handicaps and the player’s names etc.
Nothing remarkable about this you may say, but Golfshot GPS, as the name would suggest, has a whole other dimension. Via GPS it finds the course you are on, then the hole, then the tee, all shown from an aerial photo of the course.
Golfshot GPS then shows you where to aim, and how far away the hole is. Once it has sufficiently coached you as to where to hit the shot, you can then track the distance of each shot when you reach the ball and even set lay-up distances for clubs.
The coaching and improvement doesn’t end when you sink the last putt either, afterward you can compare every shot and it’s outcome, view pie charts and stats and even compare with your previous rounds at that course. There is so much to this app it could easily cost a lot more, it’ll definitely help your game and it’s fun to use too.
