Dictionary.com is more than just a dictionary for finding the meaning of a word, it’s also a thesaurus.
When you begin to search for a word, options appear in a list. Even if you don’t know how to spell the letter, type in a couple of letters and scroll down the list to find the correct spelling.
When you’ve found your word, tap on it and you’ll be presented with the word split up into sounds plus you can opt to listen to how the word is pronounced by tapping on the speaker icon.
Below the pronunciation, there’s a description of the word meaning and examples of situations where you’d use that word.
The second tab along the bottom is a thesaurus where you can see similar words for the one you’re searching for.
All along the way, the words you’ve looked at are saved into your history, and remain there until you decide to delete your history.
If you’re simply trying to expand your grammar, the word of the day section is highly recommended. Every day a new word is chosen, again with the meaning and examples of how to use the word below.
