We review ShakeItPhoto, an app to add a little Polaroid retro to your iPhone photos
Published on Oct 12, 2009
Now the days of digital photography have arrived, it’s hard to remember what life was like with film and even Polaroid.
Watching those photos develop in front of your eyes, wondering how the photo will turn out used to be the most exciting part of photography.
ShakeItPhoto allows you to reminisce on days gone by with its fun way of producing a photo from a shot taken on your iPhone.
The interface for taking a photo is exactly the same as it is when using the camera in normal mode, so there’s nothing complicated about the app.
Once you’ve taken the snap using the photo icon at the bottom of the screen, ShakeItPhoto will ask if you’d like to use the photo. Tap on ‘use’ and the photo will appear as an undeveloped Polaroid.
Shake the iPhone to develop the photo, and see your image appear. The slower you shake, the longer it will take for the image to appear fully developed.
ShakeItPhoto may not improve pictures, add filters or do anything fancy, but it does add a whole lot of fun to taking photos, and gives them a certain grainy Polaroid quality.
