Currency.app review
We review Currency.app, an app that lets you convert between more than 60 different currencies
Published on Oct 9, 2009
If you’re a frequent traveller, or are even just heading out of the country for a short time, it’s important to keep on top of the current currency rates.
Currency.app allows you to view multiple currency conversion in real time, so you can monitor exchange rates wherever you are, at any time of the day.
The interface is a doddle, with the ability to add currencies to the app omepage with a couple of taps. As default, Euros and US Dollars are displayed, but to add new ones, you simply have to tap on the Add new box, where you’re taken to an interface comprising two scroll wheels – the ‘to’ and ‘from’ currencies. Swipe your finger down these to find the currency you’re looking for.
One issue we had was working out the shortcodes for the currencies, but if you know these, you’ll have no problem.
To perform a currency conversion, you simply need to enter a monetary amount in the box at the top of the app page. The conversion amount will then be displayed in the boxes below.
To track the changes in exchange rates, tap on the currency you’re interested in, and you’ll be presented with a graph of exchange rate changes over the last two months.
