We review Radio Times, a TV planner for the Apple iPhone
Published on Oct 9, 2009
As the name suggest, Radio Times is the TV planner magazines application for the iPhone.
At £2.99, it seems a little steep, but the app is very detailed.
After you’ve selected your country and which service you have (such as Freeview, Sky, Virgin etc), you’re taken to a list of programmes that are currently showing. Swipe horizontally and the app will show what’s on next, and you can view the day’s lineup in half an hour increments.
Along the bottom of the app, there are a range of options including Radio Times Choices, Films, and your Favourites that you can add when viewing listings by pressing the star icon next to each programme.
More options include Sports to see which sport programmes are on at what time across all channels, and Search which allows you to find a listing.
If you want to change the day, you can by tapping on the time at the top of the screen. This will take you to a rotary date option screen where you can change the date to up to a week ahead.
Radio Times may be expensive, and pretty complicated, but it is an in depth application with full Radio Times-style descriptions of each programme.
