Children's Classics review

We review Children's Classics, a collection of kids stories for the Apple iPhone

Books may not be the most popular section of the App Store, but therre are a whole range of goodies in there if you look hard enough.
Children's Classics is one literary icon that will keep you entertained whatever your age.
On opening the app, it asks if it can use your current location. Of course, you can choose to accept or decline this request.
The books menu is nicely presented. We opted to view Alice in Wonderland. The app then launched straight into the book rather than a chapter listing. The default font is big and bold and very easy on the eye. You can, of course, change its size, font type, colour, and even the paper, in the settings menu.
And, if reading from the beginning of a book to the end is not your style and you want to be able to delve into a specific chapter, you simple click on the chapter menu button from within the book and, hey presto, you have it.
If you tap on the screen, the app will also auto scroll the pages for you – as slow or as fast as you like – and you can double tap again to regain scrolling control. This aspect of the app has been really nicely implemented.
A great new way to read the great old classics.
