How to import SIM-card contacts onto your BlackBerry
If you import your SIM-card contacts onto your BlackBerry you will have much more flexibility and storage space - see how easy it is with this step by step guide

Your SIM card can hold basic address-book information (names and numbers) and nothing else. It is also limited to about 100 to 200 entries.
Your BlackBerry, on the other hand, not only has more storage space for such things, but allows you to hold multiple records for each contact, such as phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses and important dates, such as birthdays and anniversaries.
If you previously stored names and numbers on the SIM card, you can continue to access these details straight from the card. However, it is easier to import that data to the BlackBerry. This will allow you to expand the amount of contact information you hold, as well as attach photos, so an incoming call or email can give a visual depiction of who is contacting you.
Your BlackBerry makes importing SIM contacts very easy:
- From the Setup folder, choose the initial setup wizard, then select Import SIM Card Contacts.
- You will receive a prompt to make sure you want to do this – select Yes.
- Once completed, you can edit information, including adding email addresses or merging SIM-card contacts with data synced from your desktop computer.
