Samsung D900 camera samples
A selection of sample digital photos to show the quality of the Samsung D900's 3-megapixel camera
Despite the phone's slimline casing, Samsung has squeezed a 3.0-megapixel camera into the D900, which at the time of writing is currently the highest-resolution camera in a slider phone.
As well as a top resolution of 2048x1536, the D900 offers seven other settings, ranging in steps from a printable 1600x1200 down to a send-able 240x180. The camera has an autofocus lens, but you can tweak the settings according to the conditions to alter white balance, exposure metering, ISO and three quality levels - superfine, fine and normal.
There is also a multi-shot option, which lets you capture 6, 9 or 15 shots with one click to create interesting sequences or simply to grab the best shot of a fast-moving subject.

At the top resolution of 2048x1536, details such as the text on top of the church are fantastic, but white balance and contrast isn't great
The superfine setting ensures that even with digital zoom, the image remains crisp and shows little sign of pixellation
At 800x600, the photo is less sharp, but the colours are well defined - the sky and trees here are good examples of this

Zooming in at 800x600 shows up the pixellation and blur usually associated with using digital zoom
Even at 240x180, the image retains enough detail and the colours are strong enough to use as a phone desktop or send via MMS
Starting at such a low resolution means there is little degradation from zooming in at 240x180, ideal for taking fun snaps for sharing
