Pair your Samsung D600 to a Bluetooth device
Pairing your handset
You don’t need to pair your handset with every other Bluetooth device. You can transmit data between phones and PCs without pairing, but you’ll need to use pairing when connecting a Bluetooth headset and, when transmitting data, paired devices conveniently appear in the list of recipients without you needing to wait for a search to finish.
To pair your D600 with another device, follow these steps:
- From the standby screen, press Menu to enter the main menu
- Scroll down and right to highlight ‘Settings’, then press Select (Figure 1).
- Move down the list to the sixth item, called ‘Bluetooth’ and press Select (Figure 2).
- Now scroll down once to highlight ‘My devices’ then press Select (Figure 3).
- This will automatically begin a search for other visible devices in the area, and once you have paired up (Figure 4), the paired device’s name will be shown in the list before the search completes.
- Highlight the device you want to pair with on the list and press Select (Figure 5).
- You will be prompted to enter a PIN number. This is a rudimentary security tool and it prevents another device from accepting pairing if it doesn’t have the same code. When pairing with a computer, you’ll be prompted to enter the same code as you entered on the handset to complete the pairing process. If you are pairing with a headset or similar, check your device manual for the PIN number. Quite often it will be set to “0000”.
- You will shortly see a message confirming that the device has successfully paired.
