Once you have set up your Samsung SGH-D600 to access a POP3 email account, you can start to send and receive emails from your phone. Email functions can be found alongside your SMS and MMS controls. Create an email as follows:

  • From standby, enter the main menu by pressing Menu.
  • Press Select immediately to enter ‘Messages’ (Figure 1).
  • The first item is ‘Create new message’ so press Select again (Figure 2).
  • Scroll down to highlight ‘Email’ and press Select (Figure 3).
  • You will see three options: ‘Subject’, ‘Message’ and ‘File attach’. ‘Subject’ allows you edit the email’s subject header and ‘Message’ lets you enter the body text. ‘File attach’ lets you add files stored on your phone or memory card to your email (Figure 4).
  • Add a subject by pressing Options, then highlight ‘Add’ and press Select.
  • When you have entered a subject, press Options again, highlight ‘Save’ and press Select to return to the New message menu.
  • Do the same for ‘Message’ to enter the body text of your email.
  • If you want to add an attachment, highlight ‘File attach’ and press Options. Navigate through the menu tree and select the file you want to add. Attachments will appear below the New email menu items.
  • To add recipients and send the email, press Options then highlight ‘Send’ and press Select (Figure 5).
  • Enter your recipients email address, or if you have it stored in your phonebook contacts, press Options then highlight phonebook and press Select. Choose the recipient from the list and press OK followed by Select.
  • Finally, press Options and choose Send (Figures 6 & 7).

To receive emails, you will need your phone to connect to the internet and receive emails from your provider:

  • From the ‘Messages’ menu, go to the second item, called ‘My messages’ and press Select.
  • Scroll down to ‘Email box’ (Figure 8) and press Select.
  • You should see your email account profile name at the top and a box marked ‘Check new mail’ will be highlighted. Press OK to start connecting to you email provider (Figure 9).
