UPDATE: Android Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy S2 hits UK
We’ve just received word from a reader that Samsung’s Android Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S2 is now live in the UK
UPDATE: After testing out our source's claims we've discivered this update is not the official UK one – it's the Spanish version. To access it you will need a rooted Galaxy S2. Very sorry for the confusion, guys.
Android Jelly Bean has now begun rolling out to unlocked Samsung Galaxy S2 handsets in the UK, Know Your Mobile has learnt.
We reported yesterday that Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S2 had reached Europe, and now it looks like it has finally made its way to the UK.
One KYM reader mailed late last night to inform us that his unlocked Galaxy S2 received the official Jelly Bean update late last night.
‘Just updated an S2 to jelly bean with the official update. Works a treat, but no Photosphere camera app! Did Samsung just decide not to include it?’ Said the source.
The update released by Samsung, Jelly Bean version 4.1.2, does not, unfortunately, feature Photosphere. That’s an Android 4.2 exclusive, currently only enjoyed by users rocking a Google Nexus 4 or handsets flashed with the latest Jelly Bean ROMs.
With version 4.1.2 you see get access to Project Butter, the awesome Google Now, as well as tons of software and efficiency tweaks that when combined should make your Galaxy S2 feel like a brand new handset.
