Samsung Galaxy S4 to launch in May, says Samsung Lebanon
Samsung’s Lebanon office has apparently confirmed when the company’s upcoming Galaxy S4 handset will be launching via Facebook
Samsung will launch its new flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S4, in May 2013, according to the company’s Lebanon Facebook page.
If true – and that’s still very uncertain – it’d mean that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S4 exactly one year after the launch of its market-leading Galaxy S3 handset.
Reuters has also bandied around a possible May launch in the past, but we’ve still yet to get anything concrete back from Samsung HQ regarding the S4.
We don’t expect to see the device at either Mobile World Congress 2013 or CES 2013, both of which take place in the first half of Q1 2013. Nor do we expect to see it at IFA 2013 or any other trade show.
Why? Simple: Samsung is such a big deal now it no longer needs to launch its flagship devices at trade shows. It can afford to do its own bespoke launch events just like Apple.
In terms of specs, not that much is known about the Galaxy S4 other than the fact it’ll be larger, thinner, and significantly more powerful than its predecessor, the Galaxy S3.
