Samsung Galaxy S4 turns up in benchmark test
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S4 handset has rocked up inside benchmark test, according to reports
Samsung’s next flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S4, has popped up inside a benchmarking test. Going by the name GT-I9400 and scheduled for a launch in Q2 2013, Samsung’s Galaxy S4 is likely to be one of the biggest launches of next year.
Reports suggest Samsung will launch the device at either CES 2013, Mobile World Congress 2013, or at a bespoke event sometime after the two expos. Either way, the device will be on-market during the second half of 2013.
Samsung has apparently attempted to disguise its upcoming new hero handset but tweaking the figures, according to Product Reviews.
The device is listed as running a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU and supporting an 800x480 pixel display, which we know isn’t true – it’ll have a 1080p display, Android 5.0, and a quad-core processor.
SamMobile is reporting that this is the first round of firmware testing, claiming the device is now well on schedule for a launch in May 2013.
It also points out that the firmware for the Galaxy S3 was tested in a device with a display resolution of 480x800 ahead of its official launch back in Q2 2012.
Expect to see lots more leaked about this device as we approach 2013.
