Samsung Galaxy S3 cracked case problems
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is having body issues and cracks are starting to show
The Samsung Galaxy S3's casing is starting to crack, according to a number of sources.
Recent figures show the Galaxy S3 is one of the most popular phones on the current market, achieving record sales. But some owners might be a little disappointed with their purchase as it might start splitting in places.
One of our main gripes with the Galaxy S3 was the quality of materials used for the body shell as it felt cheap.
The thing is, Samsung usually uses plastics which hold up well to wear and tear even if they have a questionable feel to them, in our criticism of the cheap feeling back body we never actually thought it’d break apart under normal use.
According to tech news site Tweakers, Samsung is now aware of the problem and is currently investigating. The company has also promised to replace any handsets affected by this problem. Users who reported the problem said the phones had developed these cracks under normal use and they seem to occur on the sides and bottom of the handset.
Samsung isn’t the first manufacturer to experience problems with cracking bodyshells on its premium devices. When the HTC One S launched reports came in that its aluminium shell was flaking off in some instances, though HTC moved quickly to deal with the problem and it hasn’t become more widespread since.
