Guide: How to set up a lock screen on the Samsung Galaxy S2
This guide will show you how to make your Samsung Galaxy S2 more secure by using a lock screen
It's a good idea to set a lock screen for your smartphone to prevent people from accessing your private information.
You have three options on the Samsung Galaxy S2 with either a pattern lock, PIN lock or password lock.
How to set an unlock pattern
- From the homescreen, open the application list (App drawer) and select ‘Settings’.
- Tap ‘Location and security’.
- Tap ‘Set screen lock – Pattern’.
- Draw a pattern by dragging your finger to connect at least 4 dots.
- Select ‘Continue’.
- Draw the pattern again to confirm.
- Select ‘Confirm’.
How to set an unlock password
- From the homescreen, open the application list (App drawer) and select ‘Settings’.
- Tap ‘Location and security’.
- Tap ‘Set screen lock – Password’.
- Enter a new password (alphanumeric) and select ‘Continue’.
- Enter the password again and select ‘OK’.
How to set an unlock PIN code
- From the homescreen open the application list (App drawer) and select ‘Settings’.
- Tap ‘Location and security’.
- Tap ‘Set screen lock – PIN’.
- Enter a new PIN (numeric) and select ‘Continue’.
- Enter the PIN again and select ‘OK’.
