Multiple Samsung Galaxy S III devices on the horizon?
Samsung might have a whole range of Galaxy S III handsets up its sleeve for this year
Samsung may be planning more than one Galaxy S III handset according to a South Korean tech news site.
Etnews claims Samsung is working on multiple variations of the next Galaxy S smartphone including one with a high-performance camera, a second with a 3D display and a third with a Galaxy Note-style stylus.
According to the report the standard Galaxy S III will launch first with the other variants following throughout 2012 and into 2013, though not specific dates have been outlined.
Previously the Galaxy S III was expected to be previewed at Mobile World Congress towards the end of February, but Samsung officially stated its reveal would be put back until later in the year.
Rumours now suggest a May release date and we're now hearing Samsung has scheduled a March 22 press event in France, which could indicate an official announcement leading up to the May launch, or perhaps even an earlier launch than the rumour claims.
French news site FrAndroid will be in attendance, which reinforces the idea this could be the Galaxy S III rather than, say, a Windows Phone device from the manufacturer.
However, it is also possible it could be to do with Google's forthcoming TV service or another Android-powered phone or tablet. We've recently heard of an 11.6-inch Galaxy Tab in the works, to cite just one possibility.
