JK Shin, Samsung’s Head of Mobile, has reportedly just confirmed that Samsung will launch an 8-inch Galaxy Note device at MWC 2013

A Korean news source has claimed that Samsung will launch an 8-inch Galaxy Note device at Mobile World Congress 2013.

According to iNews24, Samsung’s Head of Mobile, JK Shin, confirmed that we would be seeing yet another addition to its Note series of devices. Unable to read Korean, Know Your Mobile has reached out to Samsung UK in order to verify iNews24’s claims.

We’ll up date the story as soon as we’ve received word back from Samsung UK.

What are the chances of this report being legit? Pretty good as it goes – iNews 24 got word on the Galaxy S3 Mini from JK Shin before anything was official, according to Android Headlines.

It also tallies up nicely with recent reports of an 8-inch Note device appearing on benchmarking websites. Specs for the device, are as follows: 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor and an 8-inch 1280x800 pixel display.

Samsung is expected to add another device to its Note range, Know Your Mobile has learnt. And this new addition is expected to land sometime in Q1 2013. Could it be an 8-inch slate device that’s getting a launch at MWC 2013?

It’d certainly make sense given that we already have a 5.5-inch and a 10.1-inch variety to choose from. Mobile World Congress 2013 kicks off in Barcelona on February 24.
