Android 4.2 rolls out to Samsung Galaxy Nexus in UK
Android 4.2 is finally here for UK-living Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners, bringing gesture-based typing, lock-screen widgets, and a new notifications menu
The initial dissemination began earlier this week but ours landed late last night, around 10:30pm. Android 4.2 brings quite a bit to the mix including gesture-based typing, truly a godsend, lockscreen widgets, Google Now tweaks, and a new dual-notifications menu.
Performance seemed to be a little sluggish when first installed but that seems to have cleared up now, leaving everything almost as buttery smooth as it was with Android 4.1.
Launched aboard the Nexus 4, Android 4.2 adds quite a bit of additional functionality including amongst other things vastly overhauled camera settings, adding Instagram-like filters and effects, as well as touch-based settings controls.
There’s been plenty of talk about Android 4.2 being packed with bugs, but we’ve yet to encounter anything that could be considered a fault with the update.
We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for anything amiss, however, so keep an eye on the KYM Twitter for updates on this.
