We explain how to use your Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini to format a memory card

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is a brilliant little device with a punchy 1GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM and, we were pleased to note, a micro SD slot, allowing you to add up to 32GB of extra storage space to your device - which is a must if you're a fan of watching movies or listening to your favourite albums on the hoof.

When using a memory card with your Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, you may have formatted it using your PC or laptop, but it may also need to be formatted when in-situ, so we've put together a guide to show you the steps you'll need to take to do so.

  1. Start at the Homescreen
  2. Tap ‘Apps'
  3. Hit ‘Settings'
  4. Go to ‘Storage'
  5. Select ‘Format SD Card' twice
  6. Choose ‘Erase everything'

(Don't forget to back up the contents of the card before you go ahead and delete all data as it won't be recoverable after formatting!)
