No UK release for the Samsung Galaxy 3D
The Samsung Galaxy 3D will not be coming to the UK, despite initial claims the device would be landing in Q4 of 2011
Looks like Samsung’s answer to the HTC EVO 3D and the LG Optimus 3D won’t be getting a release date in the UK after all, Know Your Mobile can reveal.
Nothing has been officially disclosed by Samsung about the Galaxy 3D. Tech companies, after all, never comment on rumour. At least, that's usually the case but we’ve just been told the handset isn’t coming to the UK.
The correspondence with Samsung’s PR regarded a comparison between the Samsung Galaxy 3D and LG Optimus 3D.
During the course of the conversation, we were asked where we’d got the specs from and then told, in no uncertain terms, the Samsung Galaxy 3D will not coming to the UK.
'We can confirm that there are no current plans for Samsung to launch a 3D smartphone in the UK market,' Samsung told us.
Could this be down to the current hysteria surrounding the potentially harmful affects of glasses-free 3D displays? Or does it just mean the Galaxy 3D is an Asia-market exclusive? Both are fairly plausible, if we're honest.
'With this success in mind, it would appear that Samsung has decided to up the stakes and do the only thing which could possibly make the Galaxy S2 even more cutting-edge, make it 3D!
'The Samsung Galaxy 3D hasn't been officially confirmed by the Korean giant yet but a little dig reveals some pretty concrete information from some reputable sources, so much so that we've decided to put the device up against one of the finest 3D smartphones on the market, LG's quality Optimus 3D.'
It looks like we’ll just have to make do with the LG Optimus 3D and the forthcoming HTC EVO 3D for all of our 3D mobile needs.
