Luxury watch maker Ulysse Nardin has announced a hybrid smartphone called the Chairman

Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin has announced the Chairman, a smartphone with more than a little hint of luxury watch status.

It seems that the design staff at Ulysse Nardin have put considerable horological talents to good use with the ludicrously detailed Chairman handset. It features a fully-functional kinetic rotor, which is of course visible, reminding you of the calibre and pedigree of the device.

The handset is due to get its first official outing at Baselworld watch and jewellery show in Switzerland and we don't expect it to be anything approaching affordable for the most-part.

The exclusive Chairman “hybrid smartphone” is limited to a run of 1,846, presumably an homage to the company first being founded in 1846 in Le Locle, Switzerland.

If the sound of this handset tickles your fancy you should check out the Ulysse Nardin website for further details.
