Find my iPhone now with turn-by-turn directions
Apple has updated its Find my iPhone app, now with turn-by-turn directions to lead you to your device
Apple has updated Find my iPhone, with directions to get you to the destination of your lost or stolen iDevice.
When you manage to locate your iPhone or iPad via a computer or another iDevice, you can just tap on the driving icon and up will pop the turn-by-turn instructions of how to get to the phone or tablet.
The update is available for iPhones running version iOS 6, which may cause some alarm as that particular version of Maps has caused no end of disaster.
When Apple stopped using Google's mapping data, many locations were listed in the wrong place, search results were incorrect and there were all kinds of anomalies with its turn by turn directions.
There have, in contrast, been quite a few success stories of people finding iPads and iPhones using Find my iPhone though and although you may be a little nervous driving to the person who stole your iDevice's house, it's an interesting addition to the app....if you ever get there.
Of course, the thief can also disable Find my iPhone if they're a savvy Apple user, meaning you'll never find your beloved.
To get the latest version of Find my iPhone, check for app updates and Find my iPhone should appear.
