Microsoft Surface graffiti ads hit Europe as social networking push begins
Microsoft's Surface marketing campaign is rolling into action
We reported a little while back that Microsoft had started a kind of viral physical advertising method for the forthcoming Surface tablet, involving graffiti-like artwork in US cities. Now it looks like the campaign has landed in the EU.
Similar adverts have now appeared in Paris, apparently sketched out in chalk and showing the tablet screen with a solid outline, accompanied by the detachable coloured keyboard with a dotted outline and the word 'Surface' clearly displayed.
Nothing has reached the UK just yet, but this could be the start of an EU-wide marketing campaign and we might also start to see those Windows 8 TV ads which leaked on YouTube last week appearing on the telly box shortly.
The launch date for Windows 8 and the Surface tablet is October 26, so now is a good time for Microsoft to be making a push.
It’s also not clear whether Microsoft’s regional webstores will be the only distribution platform for Surface tablets or if they’ll also appear in retail stores and other third-party webstores.
On a similar tack, Microsoft has now become active with its various Surface social networking accounts, dispensing snippets of information, videos and the like through both Twitter and Facebook.
