Nokia is releasing its Reading app in the very near future, bringing eBooks to your Lumia smartphone

Nokia Reading will be coming to the UK and other European countries in the very near future.

Nokia Reading, which is an eBook app as the name sort of suggests and not an app for the Berkshire town, was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2012 and now it's very near to release, according to The Verge.

Using your Nokia account like you do with Nokia Music, you can purchase eBooks and audio books from within Nokia Reading to make your commute more bearable.

Better still, you will be able to pin new publications to the home screen to get updates on what's going in the world with the RSS newstream in a future update. A lot of news apps already do this on Windows Phone but it's always nice to have more of a choice.

It's not yet clear how many books Nokia Reading will come with and whether it can compete with the mighty Amazon Kindle app. We're hoping Nokia is taking the route of giving Lumia users a lot of good free books.

Nokia Reading will appear in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Spain first, with other countries to follow.

Nokia Reading joins Nokia Drive, Nokia Music and Nokia Transport as Lumia Windows Phone app exclusives.
