iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak now available
The newest update to Apple's iOS platform can already be jailbroken
The newly released update to iOS, version 5.0.1, can already be jailbroken with the ever reliable redsn0w, according to reports.
As with previous iterations, the tweak isn't available on iPhone 4S or iPad 2, but will no doubt bring a smile to the faces of those users left burdened by the widely reported battery issues that have been plaguing the platform.
The 5.01 jailbreak is a tether-only option at the moment though, meaning you'll have to hook your device up to your PC or Mac to complete the procedure and have things working normally, but for all the goodness you get that seems like a minor inconvenience.
Reports indicate that a jailbreak for the newly released iPhone 4S could be on the horizon too, so early adopters of Apple's latest box of tricks need not despair.
An exploit has been discovered that could potentially unlock the software on iPhone 4S and iPad 2, and hackers are said to be hard at work, converting the flaw into a usable hack for end-users.
We'll bring you more news on that as we have it.
