Tube Map now has Oyster card integration and has surpassed the 5 million download mark

The latest update of Tube Map now includes Oyster card integration so you can check your balance, saving you from clumsily bouncing into the barriers at your nearest station.

Update 3.4, as its known, also coincides with an impressive milestone - Tube Map has just passed 5 million downloads across iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows Phone 7 handsets and is used by 100,000 users every day in London.

Tube Map is exactly that - an map of the London underground on your mobile from Tfl. You also get live station and route updates, a route planner, social networking integration so you know the status of where you are heading and the aforementioned Oyster card balance checker.

Even if you live in London, it can be very useful to plan your route to a new part of the city, which makes Tube Map an invaluable free app.

For those of you who dislike the idea of spending money, Tube Map is free, which makes it an essential download for London-goers.

David James, CEO, mxData told Know Your Mobile: 'The meteoric success of our Tube Map app has been astonishing and we are thrilled that it is of use to so many people trying to navigate their way around London.

'We are continually upgrading and adding new features recommended by our customers. We value all feedback we receive and have acted on this for the latest upgrade. Further revolutionary updates are coming later in the year.'

Tube Map can be downloaded from the Windows Marketplace, App Store, Ovi Store and BlackBerry World.
