Richard first began his writing career at Dennis as a freelancer for IT Pro in 2009 after graduating from Leeds with a BA (Hons) in English and History. However, before he became a journalist, Richard worked behind the bar at The Prospect of Whitby in Wapping for about six months – although he claims it felt like an eternity.

Throughout 2009 Richard worked as a freelance news, reviews and features writer for a variety of publishing houses including Dennis, Republic and Kazoom Media.

Richard came back to Dennis in 2010 after being appointed staff writer at Know Your Mobile in February 2010 and was promoted to features editor for the site in 2011.
