Using the N95 image Gallery
View your videos easily and images as a slideshow using the Nokia N95's gallery application
The Gallery application in the Nokia N95 can be used as a route into images and videos, to sound clips, to streaming links and to presentations. Here, though, we are looking at how it works as a route into stills and videos you’ve shot with the camera.
You can get to the gallery direct from the camera software or from any other application. Just press the key on the right edge of the phone next to the camera shutter button. Alternatively press the Nokia Menu key to the left of the directional keys and choose Gallery. Then choose ‘Images and video’.
Once you have opened your images and video folder images and video clips are arranged in a loop around the screen and ordered by date. The large one in the centre of the screen can be viewed by clicking the Scroll key. Information underneath this image or video still tells you when the image or video was shot and the size of the file.
Videos are identified by a filmstrip along their left edge.
Click the Scroll key to look at an image or view a video then use the right Selection key to go back to the main Gallery view.
Albums
You can set up albums to keep your photos in good order. In the main Gallery view or when looking at an image choose Options with the left Selection key then choose ‘Albums’ then ‘Add to album’.
If this is your first time you will only be able to select a ‘New album’ by pressing the Scroll key. Next choose OK with the left Selection key, type a name for your album and choose OK with the left Selection key. You will get the message ‘added to album’ to indicate that your chosen photo has been put into the new album.
To add another photo view it, choose Options with the left Selection key then choose ‘Albums’ then ‘Add to album’ and select the album you made, or create a new one.
Slideshows
You can view slideshows of all images or of the contents of an album. To open an album Choose Options with the left Selection key then choose ‘Albums’ then ‘View album’ and use the Scroll key to highlight the album you want to view, pressing to select it. To view all your images in a slideshow stay on the main Gallery view.
Now choose Options with the left Selection key then choose ‘Slide show’ and then ‘Start’.
If you would like your slideshow to include music then choose ‘Settings’ and make selections. You can also decide on the delay between different images and even let the software automatically zoom around and fade images into each other by choosing ‘Zoom and pan’ in the ‘Settings’ area.
