Customising the N95's Active Standby screen

Select your favourite applications to appear on your N95's Active Standby screen

The Active Standby screen is the screen that displays when you turn your Nokia N95 on. It offers you shortcut icons to six applications as well as Calendar and To Do list entries.

To get quick access to the Active Standby screen click on the Nokia Menu button to the left of the directional keys. One click will take you to the main menu screen, clicking it again brings up the Active Standby screen.

To view Calendar or To Do list entries or run one of the applications from its shortcut icon use the Scroll key to highlight what you want and then press.

To customise the six application shortcuts follow these instructions:

  • Press the Nokia Menu key to the left of the directional keys and choose Tools
  • In the Tools screen click on Settings
  • In the Settings screen select General
  • In General settings menu click on Personalisation
  • Select Standby mode
  • You can then choose whether you wish to have Active Standby on
  • To change which applications are featured in the Active Standby menu select Active Standby Apps
  • You can customise each of the six shortcuts. Highlight the one you want to change with the Scroll key, then press it. Now scroll through the list of available options and press when the one you want to shortcut to is selected
  • In the Standby Menu you can also select which applications are represented by the left and right Shortcut keys
  • When you are finished choose Back with the right Selection key and keep pressing Back until you return to the Active Standby screen
