Creating a custom ringtone for a contact on your N70
Sandra Vogel
You will need to make use of the Nokia N70's Groups feature - which allows you to assign a ringtone to a group of contacts.
You can assign a personalised ringtone to individual contacts on your N70 so you can tell in an instant who's calling you
Wouldn't it be great for your N70 to have personalised ringtones for particular contacts so you know immediately who is calling you? Well you can - though it's not the most obvious process in the world.
You will need to make use of the Nokia N70's Groups feature - which allows you to assign a ringtone to a group of contacts. When a member of that group calls you that ringtone you've assigned will ring. All we're going to do is put one person in the group rather than several.
(Naturally you could use the feature as intended and assign a ringtone to a group of contacts, such as 'Work' or 'Family' or 'Creditors').
- Press the Nokia Menu key to the left of the 1 and 2 keys and use the navigation key to select Contacts (see figure 1)
- Press the right navigation key once to select the Groups tab (figure 2). In this case there are no groups entered
- Click on the Options key and select New group (figure 3)
- Give the group a unique name and click on OK ( figure 4) That group will no appear in the Groups listing
- Click on Options again and select Ringing tone (figure 5)
- Find the personalised tone you want to assign to the group and click Select The next time that person rings your N70 it will play the clip you chose. Job done.
