Use the Camera

The Nokia N70 has a 2 megapixel camera
Take photos with the built in camera on your N70 mobile phone
People often like to take photos with their mobile phones. They can be kept on the phone for showing to other people, or copied onto a PC for use there, or even sent to people in MultiMedia messages.
The Nokia N70 has a 2 megapixel camera with its own flash unit sitting on the back of the casing and a secondary camera for use with 3G video calling sitting above the screen on the front of the casing. You can use both to shoot stills and video, with the back facing camera giving a better quality.
How to take a photo
To turn the camera on simply slide the lens cover that sits on the back of the casing away from the camera lens. Now the screen turns into a viewfinder.
To quickly take a snapshot press the centre of the navigation button. Alternatively hold the Nokia N70 sideways and use the button on the right edge of the casing to take a photo. You can use either button, it doesn’t matter.
To zoom use the top and bottom sides of the navigation button. Note that as you zoom in the quality of your image will deteriorate so if you want to print images it is better to avoid using this feature.
Tip: the camera will go into standby mode after a few seconds if you don’t use it. To restart it, just slide the lens cover over and then away from the camera.
Camera settings
There are several different settings available that can help you improve the quality of pictures. Press the left side of the navigation button and a quick access menu appears offering several settings. Use the navigation button to choose one, and then use this button again to make a final selection or choose Back with the right select key to go to the previous screen.
The settings are:
- Scene. Settings for shooting in different conditions such as at night or when shooting a fast moving subject or a portrait
- Flash. Turn the flash on or off or have it turn on and off automatically. The flash is best used when you are quite close to your subject and has little or no effect when you are further away
- White balance. Adjust how the camera reproduces colours depending on whether you are taking a photo in daylight, under artificial lighting or in other conditions
- Colour tone. Allows you to shoot photos in black and white, sepia or a negative mode
To switch to the front camera choose Options with the left select key then choose Use second. camera. To switch back choose Options with the left select key then choose Use main camera.
