The Nokia N70 has two types of bookmarks, Automatic and Manual
Ensure you can easily access your favourite websites on the Nokia N70
Web browsing on the small screen of The Nokia N70 has two types of bookmarks, Automatic and Manual. The phone can automatically make bookmarks of every Web page you visit. They are organised into folders with the Web address of the home pages. This can be very useful, but it can also mean the bookmarks area gets quite cluttered.
To view automatic bookmarks go to the Web browser main screen by pressing the Nokia Menu Key to the left of the 1 and 4 keys and using the navigation key to scroll to Web then press the navigation key to select it.
Now scroll down to where it says ‘Auto.bookmarks’ and click the centre of the navigation button. You will see folders representing Web sites you have visited. Choose one by scrolling to it and clicking. This will open the folder and you will see bookmarks to actual pages. Scroll to the one you want and click to visit that page.
You can turn automatic bookmarking off. First choose Options with the left selection key when you are in the Web browse main screen. Next scroll down and choose Settings. Now scroll down and click the centre of the navigation button when ‘Automatic bookmarks’ is highlighted. You will see three choices: ‘Off’ turns automatic bookmarking off, ‘On’ turns it on and ‘Hide folder’ keeps collecting automatic bookmarks but does not put a folder in the bookmarks view. To choose one simply scroll, then click the centre of the navigation button or choose OK with the left selection key.
If you turn automatic bookmarks off, you will get the option to delete all the bookmarks already made automatically. Choose delete all the bookmarks already made automatically. Choose Yes with the left Selection key or No with the right selection key.
To bookmark a Web page manually
Go to the page you want to view as above. Next choose Options with the left selection key and then choose ‘save as bookmark’. You will see a default name for the bookmark. Edit this if you like, then choose OK with the left selection key. You will see the text ‘bookmark saved’.
Now you can go to the Web browser and you will see your saved bookmark. To delete it highlight it using the navigation key, then chose Options with the left selection key, then choose ‘Bookmark manager’ then ‘Delete’. You will be asked to confirm, which you do by choosing Yes with the left selection key.
