Nokia 8600 Luna camera samples

A selection of sample digital photos to show the quality of the Nokia 8600 Luna's 2-megapixel camera

Published on Jul 31, 2007

The Nokia 8600's 2-megapixel camera lens is hidden within its black stainless steel casing, emerging when the case slides open. As you might expect of a fashion-conscious phone, the camera isn't the most fully-featured, with no LED flash and no auto-focus.

Neither is there a dedicated activate and shutter key along the side of the phone - that would just get in the way of the sleek styling - so you have to activate the camera via the menus or by pressing the Up navigation key. When activated, the centre selection key becomes your shutter, and the navigation key controls the 4x digital zoom.

Picture quality at the highest resolution on 1600x1200 is acceptable enough, and the results can be improved by setting one of the five white balance options according to the lighting conditions.
