Use Themes to customise your Nokia 6300 mobile phone
Change the look of your 6300 by installing interesting themes
Every mobile phone user has changed their ringtone, and most people are familiar with adding wallpaper to personalise a mobile's screen, but Nokia lets 6300 users change the whole personality of a phone in one go by adding themes.
A theme is a self-contained package that can include any number of custom elements. After installing a theme, you'll usually notice your standby screen and desktop have changed, but more creative theme designers will change your ringtone, new message alert, screensaver, the icons on your main menu, font colours and alert tones.
Fortunately, you don't need to be an ace designer to change the look of your mobile. Your phone comes with a set of extra themes and, depending on your network provider, there will be more themes on the microSD memory card that came with your 6300.
To change the theme on your phone, from the standby screen, click Menu and highlight Settings. Click Select and highlight Themes. Click Select and highlight Select theme. The Gallery will open with the Themes folder highlighted. Click Open and the themes available from your phone's memory will appear, with your current theme selected (make a note of its name in case you want to switch back later). Highlight one of the themes and you'll see a preview of that theme on your desktop wallpaper. If you like the look of the new theme, apply it by simply clicking Apply.
To find any themes loaded onto your microSD memory card, when the Gallery opens, navigate to your card's name, click Open and you should find a folder called 'Extra'. Highlight this, click Open and a folder called 'Themes' should appear. Highlight this folder, click Open and your extra themes will appear and can be installed as described above.
