Browsing the Web with the 6233
The Web pages you see on your Nokia 6233 are cut-down versions of regular pages - the phone's built-in browser works in just the same way too
Once your Nokia 6233 is configured for Internet access, you can browse the web from your mobile, catching up with the latest news and sports results, searching for elusive info on the move and downloading games and graphics.
Before reading this guide, make sure you’ve already set up web access on your phone by reading our guide to enabling internet access. When this is set up correctly, you can load up your browser and explore the mobile web.
Browsing basics
To open the Nokia 6233’s mobile browser, from the standby mode, click Menu to open the main menu and highlight Web (the globe icon). Click Select.
You have four browsing options on the next screen:
Home: Opens the browser at the homepage specified in your web configuration.
Bookmarks: Opens a list of bookmarks set by your network provider.
Last web address: Opens the browser at the last page it visited.
Go to address: Opens a dialog box for you to enter the address of the site or page you want to visit.
Highlight the option you want and click Select. If you selected Go to address, enter the address of the site into the space provided using the keypad and click OK.
When the page opens in your browser, use the navigation keys to scroll round the page. Pages will scroll up and down a couple of lines each time you press a key, unless there are links on a page, where scrolling up or down will highlight a link on the next line. Where there are several links laid out horizontally on one line, you can move the highlight from one to the other using the left and right navigation keys.
If you find a link you want to open, highlight it and click Select.
Where you have to enter text within a form on a page, highlight the field so that its border looks thicker and simply enter the details via the keypad. You'll need to click OK when you've finished to return to navigation mode.
