Exchange a file using Bluetooth
Imagine you have taken a photo with the camera in your Nokia 5300 Xpress Music and you want to send it to another phone. Here is how to do that.
- make sure Bluetooth is switched on and that the device you want to send the file to also has Bluetooth switched on and is set to be visible
- find the photo you want to send. tap the middle Selection key in the centre of the navigation button to choose Menu, then choose Gallery and navigate to image you want to send
- when you are looking at the thumbnail of the image choose Options with the left selection key then choose Send and then choose Via Bluetooth and then choose Select with the middle Selection key
- your Nokia 5300 Xpress Music will show a message saying it is ‘Searching for devices’. When it finds the one you want to send to it will show this on screen. Use the navigation button to scroll to it if more than one is listed, and press the middle Selection key in the centre of the navigation button to choose it
- Your phone will say it is connecting. You may need to accept the connection on the other device, and then the file will be copied across. After the file has been copied across you may need to say you want to save the file on the other device. Your phone will report that the item has been sent, and you can choose OK with the middle Selection key
Receive a file from another device
First make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your Nokia 5300 Xpress Music and that it is set to ‘Shown to all’. If you aren’t sure whether Bluetooth is on or off, look at the main screen. There will be a small Bluetooth icon on the top row next to the battery status indicator if Bluetooth is switched on.
Next send the file from the other device. Your Nokia 5300 Xpress Music will ask if it should accept data from the other device. Choose Accept by taping the middle Selection key in the centre of the navigation button. You may need to enter a passcode before the file transfer can be completed.
