European Nokia Windows Phone release for November
Documents from Italian carrier TIM indicate a November release for Nokia's Windows Phone debut device
A leaked release schedule for Italian carrier TIM shows a November release for an unidentified ‘Nokia Windows Phone 7.5’.
The manufacturer's Nokia World event is due later in October and it’s on the record that several of Microsoft’s people will be in attendance, so we’re expecting some sort of official announcement will be on the cards, especially as Nokia has already said multiple Windows Phone handsets will launch before the year’s end.
We’ve heard several different names for various Nokia Windows Phone devices currently in the works: the Sea Ray, the Sabre, the Sun and the Ace, to name but a handful.
We have no idea which one is going to be carried by TIM as for now it seems the powers that be want it to remain anonymous, but we feel it’s likely this would be part of a European-wide release, including, of course, the UK.
Frustratingly, the pricing on the leaked schedule is blocked out, so we have no idea what a brand new Nokia Windows Phone will set you back, but if the November release is accurate then an announcement must be imminent.
Hopefully we won’t have to wait long to find out the device’s name and what it’ll cost you.
We’ll bring you more information as it becomes available.
